Project Case Study
Mayan Dude Ranch Logo
The Challenge
Mayan Dude Ranch was looking to update it’s brand. One component of this was to re-design the website, but the logo needed a refresh as well to keep the new look cohesive.
About
Internal Sketches
We started off this assignment by our usual of creating a word-list and with pen-to-paper sketches. We think this is important to just get the ideas on the paper, and getting ideas from a moving hand is easier from a hand that is to frightened to do something bad, that it does nothing at all. We leave the judgement of the sketches for later.
Initial Client Presentation
We took the initial sketches and began to take our favourites to the computer, for a virtual sketch that was presented to the client for initial review.
Second Client Presentation
After getting feedback from the client, the logo options were narrowed down and refined, and then prepared for another presentation.
Final Logo
Finally, we were able to give the client a logo they loved.
Why Concept Incarnate was the Best Choice
Concept Incarnate was the best choice for this client as we respected their roots and understood what they wanted to represent them. Sure, there are a lot of ways to design a ranch logo, but the logo needs to represent the “Mayan” brand, and the family associated with the brand.
Why We Chose This Project
The prospect of working on a locally famous ranch logo sounded fun, full of possibilities and gave us a chance to show a playful style of logo.
